New Dubai

As Dubai gets smaller - yes it is in my opinion - I look back and think of how its changed since its uprise and now stalled phase in 2010....
1- We don't have anymore "waiting lists" from Airlines, to club memberships, apartment or Villa rentals..
2- Taxis are available all day and night round and when u call they are there in a jiffy...
3- There always seems to be some kind of sales/promotions/discounts/offers somewhere somehow....
These are the big ones for now :)

  1. You are right Loomi, it does feel smaller. That said, I can't help but think that this is partly due to the fact that Dubai has come leaps and bounds in terms of organisation in the last five years. It is a better organised place now. We have a more advanced road network with no less than six parallel roads running between the coast and the desert, three of which have no less than six lanes; it's not like before, we're not all crammed on a three-lane SZR, two-lane Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Beach Road with camels strolling around. We have so many choices about where to dine, live and catch the rays that outlets need to compete for our business. Not to mention the expansion of the airline industry - I can fly almost anywhere direct. The Dubai consumer is King of his/her choices these days. If you chose to eat at a different restaurant every night, I don't believe that you will have tried them all before the end of 2010. And yet, as Dubai expands out into the desert and the sandy 'gaps' such as JBR, Al Barsha and Downtown get filled, Dubai still has that cosy feeling that I love about it.
